Image Recognition for Turbine Maintenance

Wind Turbine robot – a unique repair solution for leading edges on turbine blades. Using an automatic BR-8 robot to do repair and maintenance work in the heights that use geopositioning to figure out possible trajectories for the repair arm. To make the robot latch without human input, we taught it how to measure the distance between itself and the edge of the turbine blade. Classic computer vision methods helped to achieve a near-perfect distance prediction; the little deviation has no impact on BR-8’s work and is not a source of danger for the robot. CV also enables BR-8 to measure the angle between the robot and the blade edge, so manual repositioning of blades is not required for repairs.would have to handle this by itself, too.
